PARIS ---part 2

In Paris and I went to a cemetary....okay. Creepy? Not at all, actually it was really interesting. The Pere Lachaise Cemetary has quite a few famous people buried there and it's just very unique looking. Most all of the graves are very extravagant and above ground houses instead of just a headstone.

I had a nice peaceful little walk through the huge cemetary, along with about a thousand Asian tourists scampering around with maps of the place and checking off grave sites of famous people. Let me tell you, that map was confusing! So, I followed a group of them around and kind of "cheated" off them. Oh well, I don't think they minded.

I found the grave of Chopin. He is still extremely popular, obviously, from the amount of flowers and other things decorating his grave.

St. Mitchel Fountain.

This was specifically made to make a statement in the city of Paris. It's in the middle of a big intersection and you can see the fountain from quite a ways away.

The photo below is the view from the Sacre Coeur, or the Sacred Heart Basillica. It sits up on top of the hightest point in the city of Paris. It was so different inside compared to the other cathederals and churches I've seen. I loved the painted ceiling.

Paris made me really fall hard into the Christmas Spirit! Their night decorations were gorgeous downtown and I went to a Christmas Market for the first time. Christmas Markets were love at first sight. It smelled like hot wine, there was Christmas music playing all in English, and people seemed happy. There was also some awesome food to choose from. I ended up having a smoked salmon sandwich. AMAZING. I wish I could have it every day. The vendors were smoking salmon on long wooden boards over an open fire.

That's the end of my Paris recap. Cheers to the great city of Paris and cheers to me staying home for a few weeks!

I love how the people of London say "cheers". I'm stealing their habit. I miss those people. And London. And NFL Football. And my friend Molly from the TV Gantry. For the short time I was there, it felt like home.
