Seriously, if anyone (besides the people that were with me) can guess where the heck we visited today, I will personally mail you Swiss chocolate. Dead serious right now.
Hint: not an aquarium, or a zoo.
While we're on the topic, fun fact for you about zoo animals. I was reading an article that supports paleo eating, living and eating closer to the way cavepeople did, basically. It said that paleo eating is backed by the same science that shows zoo animals typically live shorter lives than those in the wild because they live in a totally different environment than what their genetics are designed for. To be as healthy as possible we have to try to live and eat and drink similar to our ancient ancestors. Take it how you wish. I thought it was interesting.
Anyways, here are a few more photos... any guesses?!
It's probaby the furthest thing from what you would expect it to be.
Okay, so a huge conference room, cool, right?!
I'm sure you are all dying to know where exactly.
This is in the United Nations headquarters in Geneva!
The whole building has really impressive "gifts" from different member countries on display. This gift of ceiling art is from the Spanish government. Don't worry, they only spent 23 million on it. What happened to bringing a bottle of wine as a gift?
Kidding, it is really beautiful and impressive. Photos really don't do it justice. As you walk around the room the design looks totally different. The idea was to create something that cannot be easily understood from any one perspective. Illustrating how complex issues can be.
The famous broken chair outside of the main UN building.
It's kind of hard to read, but heres "why the broken chair?"
Ahh yes, i do love democracy!
Thanks for reading! :) Have an awesome weekend!
